Azora
The challenge is no longer just getting spacecraft into orbit — it’s bringing all their data reliably back to Earth.
At Azora, we’re building the ground infrastructure to carry space communications into the information age. Our optical ground stations are designed to make space-to-Earth connectivity faster, more resilient, and more secure than ever before.
Optimized for cost & performance
We balance system cost with sensitivity, ensuring that we can move vast amounts of data from any orbit – for as little as 1% the cost per bit of traditional RF downlink.
Robust enough for wide deployment
Reliable in diverse conditions and compatible with all major optical transceivers and protocols, we support missions from low Earth orbit to the lunar surface – and beyond.
Designed for scale
Azora stations are designed with production in mind, making them modular, repeatable, efficient to build, and consistent to deploy.
Our Team
Our team has designed instruments sensitive enough to read signals from the edge of the universe and built hardware tough enough to power real-world communications in urban and rural settings. At Azora we’re bringing those worlds together to create a new generation of optical ground stations that move data faster and farther than ever before.
Why Optical?
fast, secure, unregulated
Speed
Optical links use lasers instead of radio, allowing satellites to transmit data at rates hundreds of times faster for the same onboard SWAP than traditional methods. This allows data-heavy missions to downlink all their data in a single pass.
Security
Laser beams are tightly focused, making them far more difficult to detect, intercept or jam. This provides a built-in layer of security for both commercial and government users.
License-free spectrum
Radio frequencies are crowded and heavily regulated. Optical communications bypass those limits, opening up virtually unlimited capacity for tomorrow’s space missions. No cumbersome, country-specific licensing required.
